HAPPY 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY

Today at 7:40 PM Porter will be 1 month old!! He has grown so much since we brought him home from the hospital. He can focus really well on our faces now and look into our eyes. Which is really fun and special. He is also getting pretty strong. He is a very sweet baby and LOVES to be held. He will never fuss if he is being held! AND today he started smiling at me when I coo at him. He really can smile! it's not gas or muscle spasms, everytime I coo he gets a smile. It's so cute, what a special gift to me for his 1 month birthday. Jackson didn't smile at us for cooing at him until he was 3 months old!..just a difference in personality! Porter also nurses longer. Jackson just gulped the milk down! Porter also has a cute little cry, like a lamb!
So I thought I would do a little comparrison between him and Jackson. I have Jackson's baby book and I have a picture of him at 1 month. I also have the same outfit that the picture was taken in so I put it on Porter and snapped the camera! They look so much alike to me in person..but the pictures show differences. the angles are different, and Porter's hair is fluffed out because I just gave him a bath, so it's kind of distracting. ANYWAY there are differences..I just can't tell you what they are.
Porter on top and Jackson on bottom. Remember the angles are different and so is the coloring.

They both have my nose, my lips, my cheeks, judd's eyes, judd's hair line, judd's brow... I think Jackson was just more chubby, haha! and that is the difference. Jackson is 11lbs in his picture and Porter is 91/2 lbs.

Jackson

Okay how could you NOT love this smilie face?
Jackson and I built a tower of lego blocks today and he had a lot of fun bringing out the old toys

Porter's contribution...okay so I stuck that block in his hand. I am such a poser!

It's a pretty awsome tower huh? mostly I am posting to let you know I think Jackson is happy to have his mom back. The last few days I have been able to give him about an hour of just one on one attention where we play together. Not watch TV (which we have been doing A LOT of since the little babe got here) So he has been a happier boy. Now I need to work on making it be around the same time everyday so he can depend on it.
I just want to say I LOVE BEING A MOM OF TWO BOYS!! It is SO fun. I love it when I have BOTH of them on my lap. Or when they are BOTH snuggling me in my bed...of course it's not all fun and snuggles. But those times sure make up for the lack of sleep, and the crankiness (that applys to me, Jackson, Porter, AND Judd!) I just love to look at them together. And just imagine all the fun stuff they are going to get to do together. All the stuff Jackson is going to get to teach his little brother.

Porter with his brother

This picture was taken at 3AM after I fed Porter I stuck him in Judd's pit instead of in his own crib since Jackson was in bed with us too. I dont think Judd even knew. He NEVER wakes up when I feed Porter or when I change his diaper, or when I turn the light on, or when I have to change his whole outfit bc he pooped on everything! Anyway I couldn't pass the photo op.

Okay so the last two nights we have had Jackson in our bed with us becuase he has had a night cough so he doesn't sleep good at night. Jackson is also in his own big boy bed and he does well except if he wakes up at night it is impossible to get him to go back to his own bed. Well he doesn't ever really wake up except sinse he's had this cough. ANYWAY he has slept better with us since he's been sick. So we have had both boys in our bed last night (we usually don't have Porter in their either) So it's been really fun.

The next few pics are of just the brothers...tender, I konw.

These are blurry, sorry!

Sweet Porter

I thought this one was a good profile shot.

Porter is doing very well. We just had a WIC appointment yesterday and they weighed and measured him. 3 weeks old and he has gained 1 pound and grown 2 inches!! I know it's crazy! He is now the exact size that Jackson was when he was born.
everything is going well with recooperating and nursing. The adjustment to two kids was WAY easier than I thought it would be. It's hard, but not at bad a all. Judd has been working with the temp. agentcy in I.F. until we find a better job, so I have had a good few days alone with the boys and it's been just fine.
