Halloween costumes and halloween

This was an outfit I had the boys wear one of the days prior to Halloween=o) We got these last halloween the day after sales. I was 8 months prego with porter so I knew exactly what sizes to get. I don't plan for things very often, but when I do, I am just so proud of myself=o)

This is the costume I made. My Dad bought us Porter's costume at Cosco and they only went up to 18 mo. So I thought...why don't I make Jackson a matching costume, only Orange. Than, my dear friend, Heather Bird emailed me 5 different websights with patterns for a Dino costume. I picked PBS' Buddy from the Dinosaur train...mostly b/c it was orange. Well i just couldn't figure out the pattern on the internet, so I just studied the costco one and made one for Jackson off of that. I did get some tips from the PBS websight, and the pattern for those blue scales down his back, and it also told me how much fabric I would need. and vuala!

I am just so proud... can you tell? But I can't take all the credit. I would like to thank my mom for buying me a sewing machine for my high school graduation present! I would like to thank BYU-Idaho for teaching me how to sew in the sleaves and zipper. And I would like to thank my little boy Jackson, who LOVED to wear it, and asked to wear it almost everyday for the whole month of October.

I am happy to report that b/c I made his costume I made Judd help me take our family to EVERY halloween activity there was in Rexburg. HAHA there were 5 full nights of fun and food and candy for Jackson and his costume. Porter had no Idea what was going on no matter where we were or what he was wearing.

Also if you want to keep reading you can...Judd and I planned our ward's halloween party, and we both thought it was really fun. We had SO much food. and lots of fun games for the kids and adults in our ward. Of course we couldn't have done it without our helpers and the people who brought food. But it was really fun! I dress up like a clown and tied balloons into animals...thanks dad for buying be that kit for christmas (12 years ago?) well it finally paid off. the little kids loved it!

We took Jackson trick-or-treating and he was SOOOO cute. It serisously took him about 10 houses before he understood what was going on. But once it got it he was excited to run and knock on doors. I loved this month of October!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!
